Not doing well...
On many levels. (Many things going badly wrong.) I hope I can post something soon that is actual art. Things may clarify after the 2nd. (Hopefully for the better. But I dread for the worse.) To my DA friends, I hope you had a pleasant Christmas, and I hope your New Year is fun as well. "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger." Um, no. It just weakens us more. For a second blow to kill us.

Merry Christmas to all my DA friends and watchers. It is not a merry Christmas for us. However, I will not let our sad situation dull the Christmas spirit. I will not let the dark forces win. So! Lift a drink to friends and family! Hug those dear to you! Open presents with abandon! ...And treat those pets! Watch the football games, pass out on the couch with a full tummy, and roll your eyes at Uncle Toby performing "Jingle Bells" with his armpit for your 3-year-olds. Merry Christmas.

Grim outlook ahead...
Well, it looks like we're going to be homeless again in Silicon Valley. We're being evicted, and nothing is showing up in an affordable range to move into. How am I supposed to take care of a semi-invalid 80-year-old mother living in a car? And if we lose housing, I'll lose my teaching job as well. I'm moving as much as I can of furniture and boxes into a storage unit, but it's only me. (And I've already fallen out of a moving truck with a full filing cabinet on top of me. Injury on top of pre-existing injuries, last Sunday). Very grim outlook. And the 15th is approaching fast.
